BMW Install
Your car will most likely be different from the one in the pictures, but everything is in the same general place.
1.
Make sure the key is not in the ignition. Open your trunk and inspect
the liner on the driver's side. Look for access panels and plastic rivets
that will have to be dealt with. |

| 2. Open any access panels and remove the plastic rivets. Most can be handled with a flat headed screw driver. Some pry out, some screw out, some are to be pulled out with pliers. Take your time. | ![]() |
| 3. Once the fasteners are handled, the panel should come free. This will expose the CD changer if it is installed or where it would be if not. This is where we are going to be working. | ![]() |
| 4. This is where most of the fun stuff in your car is. Amp, CD changer, factory phone kit, etc... This picture shows all three. | ![]() |
| 5. The red box shows Connector B plugged into the factory phone kit. If this is not installed, the connector in question will be zip tied to the frame in a black nylon wrap. Snip that off to get access to the connector. | ![]() |
| 6. Plug the connector into the black plastic interface box with the matching plug. If you have the 26 pin connector, be sure to plug it in properly. Secure the interface box and Parrot electronics box as best you can. We have been told that an old T-shirt or sock keep it from rattling. The top of the rear shock tower is a good place for it. Leave everything that way until you have a successful test. | |
| 7. Now, go wash your hands (and your flat head screw driver if it's dirty) because you will be dealing with the headliner. Insert the screwdriver as shown in the picture. Try to bend the panel along the axis of the screwdriver to get the front edge out. Once again, take your time with the clips. You can see their locations in the next picture. | ![]() |
| 8. If the factory mic is installed, pull the connector out. | ![]() |
| 9. If the mic is not installed, you may need to dig around up there to find it. It's up there and will probably be shrouded in black felt tape. It is a black 3 pin connector with a retention key. Plug our microphone connector pins in, taking care to line up the wires. After that, bend the wire where the connection was made and twist the twist tie from the microphone packaging around the wires to provide strain releif. | ![]() |
| 10. Once you are done, turn the key to accessory. Refer to the Parrot manual to pair and setup your phone. The Phone button makes calls. R/T is used to end them. Enjoy. | ![]() |
